Body Oils are also sometimes called perfume oils or fragrance oils. Be aware that not all perfume oils or fragrance oils are meant for use on the body. To avoid confusion, don't be concerned with the description or identification of the oil. Your emphasis should always be on knowing whether the oil is meant for the body.

Wholesale Body oils are predominantly available already scented and usually have a thin consisitency. Thicker body oil does not mean better quality or increased scent intensity. Egyptian Musk is traditionally the thickest oil, but has a very mild fragrance. In contrast, Sudanese Coconut has a very thin consistency, but also has an extremely strong fragrance.

Quality wholesale body oils should last an extremely long time as long as the oils are kept away from extreme heat and sunlight. The only detail that may change is the color. Some oils even develop a deeper scent over time, which is called marrying or maturing.

Most wholesale body oils are sold by the ounce, 1/4 pound, 1/2 pound, pound and gallon jars and containers.

Some oils suitable for use on the body are in a class of oils known as essential oils. An essential oil is a liquid that is generally distilled (most frequently by steam or water) from the leaves, stems, flowers, bark, roots, or other elements of a plant. Essential oils contain the true essence of the plant it was derived from. Essential Oils are highly concentrated and should be used with respect and extreme care. Never take essential oils internally without the guidance of a professional aroma therapist.
